I came in tonight for dinner and had a fabulous experience! Our server Grace was a ray of sunshine, we recommend having her if you can, as well as the ambiance outside was great and the food was fantastic! I had the fried fish taco and it was a huge portion and delicious. We also really enjoyed the half-priced shakers special, overall 5/5!! We will definitely be back.

Great service! Extraordinary food! We visited La Bodega right after it opened last spring. It was so close to their recent opening that Apple Maps directed us to Church Street (original location decades ago). At the time, we ordered at the counter and were served at our table. Back in town this weekend, we made La Bodega our last stop before returning home. Now full table service, and the food is as delicious as we remembered, from both our recent visit and my numerous visits to other Cafe Eccell concepts over the decades. We started with the OG Queso, thicker than most quesos these days. It’s definitely the OG, but my tastes have evolved and I prefer thinner white queso now, which they also have, so I will order it next time. The salsa was served warm and had a pleasant smoked flavor. Delicioso! Our party of four ordered the breakfast taco plate with smashed black beans and papas (thinly sliced perfectly fried potato wedges), a breakfast quesadilla, a Greco taco on corn tortilla, and a breakfast taco. The two of us who ordered a full meal needed a to go box. We rounded out our meal with my favorite dessert in the history of the world, a strawberry tart for there and one to go (praying it makes it home safely). They are as good now as they were in 1990 at Cafe Eccell, when you had to order one as you sat down in fear of them being out at the end of your meal. We wished we weren’t driving home because the Bloody Mary and Mimosa bars looked incredible. So many possibilities, so little time. Next time, La Bodega!

The service and food was excellent! The chips and cheese was ok, not the best and could have used a little more flavor. However, the reason my husband and I went was for the shrimp and fish tacos. They were delicious and didn’t disappoint. Same goes for the drinks and our awesome bartender that was very attentive. We ate at the original location that was on Northgate the night we were married and was sad it shut down! So happy to have this place back!

We tried the bodega burritos surf and turf, steak and chicken. Topped with the poblano or white cheese sauce. They were very delicious excellent flavors. The burritos were so big no one finished theirs.

The fried fish and shrimp tacos are decent though they're on the pricey side. The frozen margarita is a good deal if you like the tequila they use; I personally wasn't a fan but that's personal preference. The chicken tacos were just okay, I wouldn't get them again. I liked the red cabbage slaw on the fish taco, it wouldn't taste right without it!

La Bodega Baja Taco Bar, nestled on Greens Prairie Road in College Station, Texas, is a vibrant spot that artfully blends classic Baja flavors with a fresh, modern twist. From the moment you step inside, the warm and inviting ambiance—especially the charming outdoor seating—sets the tone for a memorable dining experience. The attentive service, highlighted by servers like Grace who bring genuine warmth to the table, truly elevates the meal.

A standout feature at La Bodega is their generous portions, particularly the fried fish and shrimp tacos, which many diners rave about for their freshness and bold flavor. The red cabbage slaw adds a perfect crunch and balance, making these tacos exceptionally satisfying. Their bodega burritos, whether surf and turf or classic steak and chicken, are robust, bursting with rich, layered flavors enhanced by creamy poblano or white cheese sauces, though their size might challenge even the heartiest appetite.

The menu is a delightful journey through Baja-inspired fare, complemented by the choice of authentic salsas—like the warm, smoked salsa that adds depth without overpowering—and thick, rich quesos that harken back to traditional recipes while providing variety for evolving tastes. Breakfast options impress with hearty plates featuring smashed black beans, thin-cut papas, and well-crafted breakfast tacos and quesadillas that leave diners satisfied and often with leftovers.

Drinks at La Bodega also deserve mention. The frozen margaritas, while subjective to individual palates, showcase quality tequila and refreshing blends, alongside enticing offerings from Bloody Mary and Mimosa bars that promise even more reasons to return. The half-priced shakers special further accentuates the value and festive atmosphere.

Dessert lovers cannot miss the strawberry tart—a nostalgic, beloved treat that perfectly caps the meal with a sweet, delicate finish, reminding many of the brand’s original roots and longstanding culinary legacy. La Bodega Baja Taco Bar succeeds not only in delivering flavorful Baja cuisine but in doing so with heart, tradition, and a modern hospitality touch. It’s a place that invites repeat visits, not just for the food, but for the full sensory experience.
